More PRIDE Pics 2

The photographs of the awards and the after dinner dancing continue:

More pics from Pride!

I was the unofficial photographer at PRIDE for Bright:

The PRIDE Awards

The Bright group turned up to the PRIDE awards and continued the tradition of causing mayhem and walking off with more prizes than anyone!

The CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) hold annual regional awards nights across the country in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and other major cities.

Back in July when I joined Bright there was mayhem because everyone was putting their entries together - utter chaos! Ever since I joined basically we'd been working up to this night. Entries are judged by a panel of representatives from consultancies based outside the region, and includes consultancies and in-house PR people.

It turned out a few months ago that we were nominated for 8 awards - more than any other group - and in the end we got medals in 7 of the 8 and many were Gold! We even got the Grand Prix prize for best overall consultancy. The only downside was that Annette was up for Young Communicator of the Year award but she was pipped to the post by another girl, which was a shame as we were all rooting for her, but handled it really well.

Our awards were:
Use of Photography, Design or New Media - Cable Guy - Silver.
Issues or Crisis Management Campaign - 3mm Tread Carefully - Finalist.
Business to Business Campaign - Countdown to Christmas - Gold.
Trade or Technical Campaign - Spot the Difference/Love Suprima - Gold.
Trade or Technical Campaign - The Fight Back Against Oil - Silver.
Consumer Campaign - The Itch Campaign - Gold.
Best Use of Media Relations - Countdown to Christmas - Silver.
Young Communicator - Annette Massam - Finalist.
Grand Prix - Gold

a new member of the congregation

I just want to share this funny little ocurrence with you.
I went to church this evening and found that a new member of the congregation was causing quite a fuss.

Freddie was getting a lot of attention by hanging around under pews, moving stubbornly from under one to the next and ignoring various efforts to be coaxed out with dishes of milk.

Ignoring cooing voices and fingers and treats the new congregation member decided next to hide under the table in and amongst cardboard boxes, and it was only with the vicar scrambling down on all fours that he was able to pull Freddie out bodily to meet the crowd.

Freddy is the vicar's cat, and a girl at that! And Freddy is the spitting image of Pads, same big eyes and markings just a bit less stunted and same sense of fun by the looks of it. Rob took his cat round in his arms to meet the congregation then took her home, and returned catless 20 minutes later.
Such a funny sight!
